Pumpkin Pie Dip

Surprise your guests with a sweet snack before the big spread. This pumpkin pie dip, adapted from Susie’s Cooking and Baking Adventures, isn’t nearly as sinful as it tastes – especially when served with lots of crisp fruit slices for dipping.

8 ounces low-fat cream cheese
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup solid packed pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling)
Pumpkin pie spice, to taste
Apples and pears, for serving
Gingersnaps, for serving

*You can make your own pumpkin pie spice by simply mixing cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, ground cloves, and allspice.

1. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese and brown sugar until smooth.
2. Gradually mix in the pumpkin.
3. Stir in the pumpkin pie spice until smooth and well blended. Chill until serving. Serve with assorted fruit and gingersnaps.

Makes 6-8 servings.
